InterContinental Doha The City launched Strata restaurant in April 2012, drawing immediate attention with its novel approach to seafood dining. Strata experiments with molecular gastronomy and fuses flavours from European and Asian cuisines. The restaurant occupies the 55th floor of the West Bay Tower, offering stunning panoramic views of the city. Its décor was developed over six months, with careful attention to tableware designs, glassware, and overall table settings, making decorated dinnerware central to the identity of the space.
Decorated Dinnerware for Strata, InterContinental Doha
MyGlassStudio’s designers worked closely with Strata’s F&B team to create decorated dinnerware that reflects the restaurant’s seafood-focused identity and its elevated setting. The dinnerware programme included glass show plates, bread and butter plates, and caviar presentation plates. MyGlassStudio also created appetizer plates, wine buckets, and napkin rings. Each piece was designed to contribute to a cohesive and memorable table setting experience.

The show plates feature a minimal round shape in metallic pearl colour, evoking the colour of sea shells and the natural tones of the ocean. MyGlassStudio applied a baroque floral design to the show plates. This decorative dinnerware pattern perfectly matched the black-and-white mosaic floors and created an interesting contrast with the marble tabletops. The bread and butter plates featured a round shape in white with a pearly finish. A tattoo-like pattern in black at the side matched the restaurant’s logo print.
The same decorative pattern was carried through to the appetizer plates, maintaining thematic consistency across the full table setting. MyGlassStudio also created decorative tableware accessories including napkin rings and a distinctive wine bucket.

The wine bucket features decorative glass beads on the rim, one of the most striking pieces in the collection. Strata’s F&B manager, featured in a Hotelier Middle East article on the opening, highlighted the champagne display as one of his favourite pieces from the collaboration.
