About Izakaya Restaurant, JW Marriott Marquis Dubai

JW Marriott Marquis Dubai houses an impressive collection of 14 food and beverage outlets. Furthermore, Izakaya operates as an experiential social sushi restaurant, a lively, buzzing environment for dining with friends. The Wasabi Girl prepares fresh wasabi at the table and entertains with impromptu fortune reading. Moreover, the décor is contemporary and cool, with black wood panels, bright green furniture, and neon lighting. In addition, MyGlassStudio collaborated with the F&B manager and Executive Chef. Together they created bespoke glass sushi plates to seal the concept with bold, memorable design.

Glass Sushi Plates. Logo as a Stamp Design Concept

The creative idea behind the glass sushi plates was to use the Izakaya restaurant logo as the focal point. Furthermore, MyGlassStudio’s designers noticed a resemblance between the logo and a postal stamp. They developed this observation into a full design concept. Moreover, MyGlassStudio adorned the geometric rectangular and square-rectangular-plates/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener noreferrer”>square-rectangular-plates/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener noreferrer”>square plate shapes with the restaurant logo in the corner. This creates the illusion of a package carrying Japanese delicacies. In addition, this concept gives urban flair to the sushi presentation. It ties the food experience directly to the restaurant’s brand.

The sushi plates with logo were designed in an interplay of black, silver, and clear glass surfaces. Furthermore, this palette matches the contemporary interior and the urban cosmopolitan feel of the restaurant. Moreover, each piece strengthens the visual identity of Izakaya while providing an elegant surface for sushi presentation.
