W Retreat and Spa Bali Seminyak opened in March 2011, reflecting W Hotels’ signature approach to hospitality, edgy and dynamic style combined with superb service. MyGlassStudio collaborated with the hotel’s opening team on tableware designs for two dining venues: Fire and Starfish Bloo. This post introduces the red glass plates and dinnerware created for the Fire restaurant.
Red Glass Plates and Fire-Themed Dinnerware for W Retreat Bali
Fire is an all-day dining venue specialising in grill delicacies and gourmet pizzas. The restaurant features an open kitchen at its heart, allowing guests to observe the food preparation directly. The décor is exactly what the name suggests. Bright yellow and red colours and flame-resembling accents contrast with the black marble background. A dramatic fireball glass chandelier anchors the room, surrounded by dark marble, wood floors, and vivid red and yellow chairs. Therefore, the red glass plates needed to match this bold, fiery identity.

MyGlassStudio’s team created the key dinnerware for Fire: glass show plates and bread and butter dishes. Unlike most projects where show plates anchor the tabletop, the main design accent here was placed on the bread and butter plates. These rectangular plates with soft round edges feature one of MyGlassStudio’s signature patterns, the “flame”, which perfectly suits the restaurant’s theme.

The flame pattern gives an energetic accent to the tabletop, highlighting the fiery spirit of the venue. The bright flame-like motif in red and orange tones creates a vivid focal point that prepares guests for the bold culinary experience ahead. The pattern is applied with precision, bold enough to make an impact while remaining elegant enough for a fine dining setting.
