W Retreat and Spa Bali Seminyak opened in March 2011, reflecting W Hotels’ signature approach to hospitality, combining an edgy and dynamic style with superb service. Furthermore, MyGlassStudio collaborated with the hotel’s opening team on tableware designs for two dining venues: Starfish Bloo and Fire. Resort Blue Dinnerware for Starfish Bloo, W Retreat Bali Seminyak

Starfish Bloo is a casual and stylish dining venue on the seaside, overlooking the Indian Ocean. Furthermore, the restaurant specialises in Pan-Asian cuisine with a blend of eastern and western flavours, serving from brunch through to dinner. Moreover, the décor is a striking contrast to the Fire restaurant, with large open-air dining areas, natural sunlight, and serene blue, white, and beige tones in harmony with the seafront. MyGlassStudio’s designers drew from the signature Pearls Collection, the perfect solution for tropical resort restaurants, view the Beach Bar Catalogue. Furthermore, the resort blue dinner plates were designed in a soft metallic brown for the show plates, with the pattern and shapes of the Pearls Collection adding new dimension to the minimalist tabletop. Moreover, glass chopstick rests replaced traditional bread and butter plates, in tune with the Pan-Asian cuisine served at the restaurant.

To introduce contrast and vibrancy to the tabletop, MyGlassStudio also created smaller glass plates in a striking blue colour with a centre-lines pattern. Furthermore, these blue accent plates added a new dimension to the dining presentation, differentiating it from settings typically found in resort sea-themed restaurants. Moreover, the combination of warm metallic brown show plates and cool resort blue dinnerware accents created a layered, sophisticated tabletop identity.
