Custom Tea Service at Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel Bahrain
MyGlassStudio designed a bespoke custom tea service for Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel Bahrain City Center. Furthermore, the hotel opened in September 2011 and comprises two towers, “Grand” (contemporary luxury) and “Ixir” (traditional elegance). Moreover, it is located in central Manama adjacent to the Bahrain City Centre Mall. In addition, the hotel offers 450 rooms and suites, eight restaurants and bars, a landscape terrace pool, and a full wellness facility. Its culinary offer spans Middle Eastern dishes at “Baharat”, Mediterranean flavours at “Saveur” and “Nasmat”, and elegant afternoon tea, view the Afternoon Tea Stands Catalogue, at “T-Spoon”. Therefore, the bespoke service had to reflect this standard of refined hospitality.

The Custom Tea Service Design. Inspired by Bahrain’s Monuments
The design began with a vision from Executive Chef Holger Jackisch. Furthermore, he wanted a high tea presentation with genuine symbolic value, one that would tell the story of Bahrain through its form. Moreover, the design needed to reflect Bahrain’s iconic architectural heritage. Therefore, MyGlassStudio’s experienced designers worked closely with Chef Jackisch to bring this vision to life.
Bahrain Sail Monument, inspiration for the custom tea service design
Following the chef’s vision, the stand design features four thin curved metal bars intersecting at the top and holding a metal ball. Furthermore, this shape evokes Manama’s iconic Sail and Pearl Monuments. Moreover, it also echoes the hotel’s own signature logo, giving the piece a dual resonance. Therefore, a typical 3-tier stand became a unique and deeply meaningful tea service accessory.
Tea Service Accessories. Stand, Plates and Glass Spoons
The complete set includes square glass plates on the 3-tier stand as well as bespoke glass spoons. Furthermore, the glass spoons serve as tea service accessories specifically designed for presenting creamy dessert items alongside the afternoon tea spread. Moreover, this attention to detail elevated the entire service from a functional setup to a memorable experience.

The true success of this project lay in the creative collaboration. Furthermore, attention to detail and a bold creative approach allowed MyGlassStudio’s designers to produce something genuinely one-of-a-kind. Here is how Chef Holger Jackisch described the experience:
“Glasstudio is the tool to use when you want to put your imagination into reality. They have a fantastic team of skilled people which not only do glass plates but just anything made out of glass. I just designed an afternoon tea stand with them which was born on a drive to work. I had it in my head for weeks, sketched it on paper and had countless telephone conversations with their staff. At the end it was the best tea stand I have ever done. I can only recommend to anybody who is into design and creativity to go in touch with this great company and just have fun with their glass items.”
