MyGlassStudio designed a vibrant hotel table setting and hotel restaurant table setting for Ipanema, one of seven dining venues at Renaissance Doha City Center Hotel. Furthermore, the hotel opened in October 2011 as part of a new three-hotel Marriott complex in Doha’s West Bay. Moreover, it is the first Renaissance-branded hotel in Qatar and targets lifestyle travellers with bold, artistic interiors. In addition, the hotel features artwork from Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani’s collection. Therefore, every dinnerware element had to match this distinctive artistic identity.
About Renaissance Doha City Center Hotel
Renaissance Doha is located in one of the two 48-story towers in West Bay, adjacent to the Doha City Center Mall and across from the Qatar Financial Center. Furthermore, it is the lifestyle-focused property within the Marriott complex, designed with colorful interiors and local cultural elements. Moreover, its key dining concept centres on a cluster of seven distinct venues, each with its own character, grouped under the “West End” umbrella.

Ipanema centres its dining concept on Brazilian cuisine and Rodízio-style churrascaria service. Furthermore, meat and seafood dishes are carved directly at the table, adding an element of entertainment to the hotel dining table setting. Moreover, the interior features bright colours, long wooden communal tables, and dim lighting that create a warm, fun atmosphere. Therefore, the hotel table setting needed to amplify this Brazilian energy through colour, pattern, and form.

Furthermore, the show plates feature a mountain-like pattern across the green surface, a direct echo of the restaurant’s logo. Moreover, this table plate setting embeds the memory of the dining experience into guests’ minds through visual brand reinforcement. In addition, the starter plates and dessert plates keep a clean, understated aesthetic. The shapes throughout the hotel restaurant table setting are square, reflecting the straight, bold lines of the interior and adding an edgier, contemporary character to the table.
